AWP delivers on its commitment to help with housing, employment and education through several critical programs and services. We reach out to the community to find and engage with Warriors on a personal level in order to give them one on one support for their individual needs.
Through EOA grants and additional partnerships, AWP offers the Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (SSVF), providing housing assistance for homeless Veterans or those at risk of homelessness. Veterans and their Families who are not eligible for SSVF are connected to community and faith-based organizations that help with utilities, food and transportation needs.
AWP’s Employment Assistance Advocates are critical in connecting transitioning service members with employers. AWP educates Veterans on the translation and application of military skills to employment skills; we connect them with employment agencies, Fort Gordon and other companies; and we help train them to prepare resumes, pursue internships, excel in interviews and obtain other critical employment readiness skills.
AWP helps Veterans apply for disability and non-service connected pensions, discharge reviews, survivor benefits, insurance and records requests, and more. We help Warriors cut through the red tape so they get the services they need.
AWP insures Veterans achieve their education goals and prepare themselves for a better tomorrow.
